Cookie policy
Updated on 2 October 2026.
1.Purpose
This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on the Profondio website, and what they are for.
It should be read together with the privacy policy and the terms of use. Using the website means accepting this policy.
2.Cookies and browser storage
A cookie is a small file that a website places in the browser. Local storage, session storage and IndexedDB play a similar role: they keep information in the browser, without sending it with every page.
Depending on the case, this information disappears when the tab is closed (session) or stays until it expires or is deleted (persistent).
3.Running the service
Without these, the questionnaire and the personal space do not work.
- Firebase: sign-in session, kept in IndexedDB, persistent
- Questionnaire progress: session storage, cleared when the tab is closed
- Email address for the horoscope space: local storage, persistent, so it is not asked for again
4.Payment and security
On the payment page, Stripe places its own cookies to detect fraud and secure the transaction. They are covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
5.Audience measurement
PostHog measures page views and the path through the questionnaire, answers included, to understand where it gets stuck and improve it. Its identifier is kept in local storage, not in a cookie.
Clicks are not captured automatically and sessions are not recorded: only the events chosen by the service are sent.
6.Advertising
The Meta pixel places persistent cookies to measure the effectiveness of ads shown on Facebook and Instagram: arrival on the website, email address given, offer displayed, click on a payment button.
No answer to the questionnaire is sent to it, it records neither clicks nor page text, and it never loads on pages opened through a personal link. These cookies are also covered by Meta's privacy policy.
7.Refusing or deleting cookies
Browser settings make it possible to refuse all or some cookies, or to be alerted when a website places one. Some parts of the website may then stop working.
Cookies already placed can be deleted at any time from the same settings. This does not prevent new ones from being placed, unless the browser is set to refuse them.
The help section of each browser explains how:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Safari
- Microsoft Edge
- Opera
- On Android, Google's help; on iPhone and iPad, Apple Support
8.Changes
