Privacy policy

1.Site publisher
Profondio is published by PROFONDIO, a company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States, at 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801.
The publisher decides what is done with the data collected and is answerable for the commitments made in this policy. Any question can be sent to contact@profondio.com.
2.Scope
This policy applies to everything that goes through Profondio: the questionnaire, the personal space, the reports and readings, the chat, and the emails and notifications sent by the service.
On the screen where the email address is requested, a checkbox records acceptance of this policy and of the terms of use. Cookies and similar technologies are described in the cookie policy.
3.Data collected
The data comes from what the person enters in the questionnaire and in the personal space, and from their use of the service.
- The answers to the questionnaire, including those written freely
- The first name, the date of birth and, depending on the reading, the time and place of birth, as well as the full name, gender and situation
- The same information about another person, when a compatibility or marriage reading asks for it
- The email address, used to send the report, the sign-in code and the messages of the service
- The photos requested by some readings: palm, iris, face, and the images generated from them
- The dream journal, the messages exchanged with the astrologer in the chat, the favourites, the draws and the reminder settings
- The purchases (lifetime pass, readings bought), the customer identifier at Stripe and the identifier of the saved card, never the card number
- The parameters of advertising links (campaign identifiers), the language and the time zone
4.Account and access
An anonymous technical account is created as soon as the questionnaire begins, to tie the answers to the person. There is no password.
The personal space opens with the email address and a six-digit code received by email. The personal link in the emails also opens the report: it acts as a key.
5.Payment
Card data passes only through Stripe, which processes the payment on the page: the service never sees it.
The service keeps the purchases (lifetime pass, readings bought), the customer identifier at Stripe and the identifier of the card saved for the next purchases.
6.Use of the data
The data is used to provide the service and to make it known.
- Writing the report and the readings from the answers, and generating the images
- Replying in the chat and preparing the horoscope and the thoughts
- Sending the report and allowing a return to it through the personal link or the sign-in code
- Sending the chosen reminders and notifications, and the emails described below
- Measuring the audience, understanding where the questionnaire stalls and measuring the effectiveness of advertisements
- Replying to messages sent to the service
7.Emails and notifications
A person who has finished the questionnaire with an email address, without having paid, may receive up to three reminder emails, about one hour, one day and three days later. They stop as soon as there is a payment or an unsubscription.
Lifetime pass holders also receive an email every Monday. The reminder emails and the Monday email carry an unsubscribe link.
The horoscope and thought reminders are set from the personal space, by email or by notification. Notifications also stop when the permission is withdrawn in the browser settings.
8.Excluded uses
The data is neither sold nor rented. The service displays no advertising. The audience measurement and the measurement of advertisements shown elsewhere are described below and in the cookie policy.
9.Service providers
Apart from the publisher, several providers receive part of the data, each for the task that falls to it. They may process it outside Europe, notably in the United States, and remain subject to their own terms and their own privacy policy.
- Google Firebase: hosting of the site, database, storage of the photos and images, accounts, notifications
- Stripe: payments and saved card
- Resend: sending of the emails
- PostHog: audience measurement and the path through the questionnaire, answers included
- Meta: measurement of the effectiveness of advertisements, from the email address and the account identifier (in hashed, unreadable form), the IP address, the browser and the payment amount
- Open-Meteo: search for the place of birth, from the text typed
10.Disclosure required by law
Data may be disclosed when the law requires it, or to assert the publisher's rights before a court.
11.Retention period
The reports, readings, photos, images and exchanges are kept as long as the account exists. A questionnaire begun and then left aside is kept until a deletion is requested.
On a deletion request, or from the personal space, they are erased and the personal link stops working.
Proofs of purchase are kept for as long as accounting requires.
12.Security
The data is kept with the providers above, behind their protections, and access is limited to what the operation of the service requires.
In the event of a breach affecting this data, the people concerned would be informed, as would the authorities where the law requires it.
13.Rights over the data
Access to the data, its correction, a copy or its deletion can be requested at any time. The consent given can also be withdrawn for the future, and it is possible to object to the reminder emails and to the Monday email, through the unsubscribe link.
The request is made to contact@profondio.com, from the email address of the order: this is what allows its origin to be checked. No justification is required.
The account and all its data can also be deleted directly from the personal space, on the "Delete my account" page, reachable from the question "How do I delete my account?" in the help centre.
14.Age
The service is reserved for adults. It does not check age. No data is knowingly collected from a minor; where it happens, it is deleted on report to contact@profondio.com.
15.Changes
This policy may change. The online version is the one that applies, with its update date at the top of the page.
